Robertson composed the tune in 1919, after his release from a German prisoner of war camp, in memory of the creeks of Portsoy where he enjoyed his boyhood adventures. This is a lovely tune to play on the viola and other lead instruments. 1. Webb22 jan. 2024 · Henderson collected the lyrics to "D-Day Dodgers," a satirical song to the tune of "Lili Marlene", attributed to Lance-Sergeant Harry Pynn, who served in Italy.
